Understanding 80/20 Rule

The 80–20 Rule, also known as the Pareto Principle states that roughly 80% of the outputs come from 20% of the causes (or inputs) for many events.

Pareto Chart

A Pareto chart is a type of chart that contains both bars and a line graph, where individual values are represented in descending order by bars, and the cumulative total is represented by the line.

Pareto chart — Total Profit for Different State in the US

An example of this can be seen when using the Pareto chart to display the customer contributions to profit using reference line to show 80% of the total profit and 20% of the customer.
